CLASSROOM MANAGEMENT

How to deal with (difficult) pupils today?

Training course description

The five-day training course is aimed at teachers of all kinds of schools and supports them in their sometimes-frustrating practical daily work at school. The course is aimed at giving teachers the tools to work successfully with pupils and students when the rules are not respected: conflicts management, effective communication and creating human relationships to each member of the group. In consequence the educational work of teachers will become easier, more effective and long lasting.

During the training participants will learn all practical tools to develop the necessary competences for the educational process with young people. The tools are taught in a very practical way with illustrative examples. Especially how to create human relationships will be demonstrated by roll plays so that every participant will be able to feel how it works practically. The given examples can be applied immediately to the daily work of all members of the training. The strenuous and exhausting daily routine of teachers will become more pleasant and effective when teachers have the suitable educational tools and competence for their work. The learning process can be improved when teachers are able to create a pleasant working-atmosphere where every pupil and student can develop his own potential. The international exchange of opinions and experiences will also change the attitude towards the educational theory of the trainees.

The project is aligned with the newest neurobiological status of the research in the educational work with pupils and students.

Methodology

According to the newest neurobiological understanding human beings learn with the whole body. Therefore the training is focused on that fact. Elements of theatre-education will be used to improve the learning process. Every participant will be able to feel the course results on his own body. All exercises will be done in teamwork.

The conflict training will be based on concrete examples, starting from the daily educational experience of the course participants. Roll-Plays will help to keep the tools in mind. Meditation will also be learned in small groups within concrete examples from the working experience of the teachers.

Regular Feedbacks are given to the trainees in a protective learning area, which enables the trainees to make new educational experience without fear. An atmosphere based on trust will motivate participants to make new experience. The participants will evaluate the trainings with special questionnaires every day.

As a result the old-fashioned attitudes towards learning can be changed more rapidly. Because of the immediate feedbacks every participant is aware of his/her learning progress at any time. The reflecting process of all methods guarantees a great benefit of experience for each group member.

Preparation and Follow-up

To ensure a sustainable learning, a Moodle platform will be available to the participants, in order to make possible a deeper work on the training content. On this platform can be discussed learning content, experiences and visions. All teaching materials will be provided on the platform, and the participants will have access to it also after the training.
